A Pumpkin Mystery is a story in the female sleuths romance genre.
Agie is a M->F transsexual scientist who tries to solve the mysterious disappearance of a giant pumpkin into a cavern beneath Slown City. This adventure leads her to make unexpected discoveries, including a mysterious subterranean animal, and puts her life in danger.
Meanwhile, a lonely, well-to-do man called Jake has to choose between courage and prejudice to pursue his love interest.
A lost notebook brings the two lives together.

A Pumpkin Mystery is a stand alone story but also chronologically a sequel to the Usher Syndrome novella, which features the same main character, Agie. If you like funny mysteries and heist books, read this story.

With Halloween behind us and Thanksgiving day only a week or so past, and Christmas under a month away, this book is the perfect Autumnal book to help one get into the spirit of the holiday season complete with pumpkins and thoughts of hot coffee and pumpkin pie that pervades these three holidays.A Pumpkin Mystery is the second in the Becoming Agie series. I loved it! I am necoming a quick fan of Grigory Ryzhakov. He books that really make one think.
One of my favorite classic movies was The King and I, with Deborah Kerr and Yul Brynner (whom i still have a crush on.) I was one of my favs because it was a story within a story. Within the King and I was The Little House of Uncle Thomas (Uncle Tom's Cabin). This book was a book within a book.
Bot only did it have the real Agie on a real date with Jake. The initial reason for the date was that he found Agie's notebook with the first part of her novel about a Pumpkin Day Celebration in Slone and the mysteey of why the pumpkin disappeared down a hole.
This story captivated me because I love a goid mystery and this book within a book had me in suspense. At the same time Jake is trying to cone to terms with falling in love with a MtF Trans individual.
I recommend reading this. Not only does it provide perspective into Trans dating and also helps us understand our Trans siblings within the larger LGBTQIA Community. Besides, it is one hell of a good read.

Incredible imagination. Fluent, exciting writing. Well-drawn, memorable characters. I read it in one breath and then wished I had taken my time to savour… And I opened it again! If every writer were like this, would be Heaven on Earth.
